My name is Martin Davison (gives it away above a bit) and I started my photography as a hobby, mainly of the night sky, but then realised how beautiful our area of the world is. I found myself taking more pictures of landscapes, seascapes, industrial and urban locations, which I thoroughly enjoy.
I currently still work full time and since I no longer work nightshifts, I started looking at other ways to utilise my spare time. At this point I had been posting my pictures on Facebook and getting quite a lot of positive feedback. I then wondered if people would purchase my images to display in their homes/offices. After a bit of research, I realised people enjoyed my work and it was worth the time to progress in that direction.
Since then, I have put together numerous pictures of our local area from Yarm to Darlington, Lake District to Cornwall and other areas I have visited.
Here, on my website, you will see a selection of my work that I have chosen to display. Please enjoy viewing them, as much as I enjoyed taking them.
They are available in many different sizes/prices as either;
- Prints
- Prints with a Mount
- Framed
- Canvas
James Cook University Hospital
I had the privilege back in April 2021 of being asked to display my work, together with another local photographer (Ian Allcock of EnA Photography) in the restaurant at James Cook University Hospital. They are primarily local pictures of our area (Teesside) which you can see in the accompanying images. They range from Industrial and scenic to local towns and landmarks as there is so much variety in our part of the world.
Also, with every framed sale we donate £5 to the ‘Our Hospital Charity’ and, so far, we have managed to donate £200 between us.
My work was also displayed at the Trinity Holistic Centre, located on the James Cook Hospital site, who are a charitable service carrying out amazing work to support patients with cancer and other long-term conditions, as well as their families and hospital staff.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me in purchasing my work as this has allowed me to donate £280, so far, to the Holistic Centre.
Equipment
As far as my equipment goes it is very basic. I have my camera body (Nikon D3300), 4 lenses (70-200mm Sigma, 18-55mm kit lens, Yongnuo 50mm Prime and a K&F Concept Fisheye lens) two of which I am yet to use, my K&F Concept tripod and bag, plus a few other accessories.
My aim has always been to improve my equipment over time which, unfortunately, I have not managed to succeed at yet. All of my images on this site have been taken using my Nikon D3300 with either my 70-200mm or the 18-55mm kit lens.
Nikon D3300
For what is classed as an entry level Dslr, I am very impressed with the results that I can achieve. It feels very comfortable in the hand and the layout of the buttons/controls flows really well.
70-200mm Sigma F2.8
This is an amazing lens and I really enjoy using it to pick out details in the landscapes, or whatever it is I’m shooting. The 70-200mm is the longest lens I own so it is my go-to for wildlife where possible.
18-55mm Nikkor Kit Lens
This is the lens I use for most of my images out of the two, as I primarily shoot landscapes and open scenes. As it is a kit lens this is probably the first that I would like to upgrade so I can get something with better quality glass and mechanics allowing me to capture those sharper images.

How to Order
Since I, currently, have no shop available on this website you can order your required image by contacting me directly.
Here are two options of contact;
e-mail me at; martindvsnphoto@yahoo.com or
Via Messenger; you can visit my Facebook page (Martin Davison Photography) and click on the ‘Message’ button.
Within the email/message if you can let me know which picture you are interested in purchasing by either the title or a description of the image, how you would like it (mount only, framed with your frame choice, canvas or maybe another method I can look into).
My standard print paper type is Fuji Crystal lustre, which is coated with a slightly stippled texture. It is resistant to fingerprints, scratches and scuffs featuring a semi-matt finish with minimal glare.
Another fine art paper type is available (Permajet Museum 310) at extra cost but really enhances the colours and overall look of the image. It is slightly textured loose weave heavyweight paper with a scuff-resistant coating to avoid flaking. As the name suggests, it has all the attributes to meet museum standard of inkjet printing.
Once we have established your requirements, I can send you an image of the final product to make sure you are happy before it is posted.
Payment
Payments can be made by either Paypal or a bank transfer, where details will be sent prior to delivery.
